Size & Fit Guide

Sizing is where most online gear purchases go wrong. Here's how we'd talk you through it in the showroom.

Footwear

All our shoes are listed in US sizing. Measure your foot at the end of the day, standing, wearing the socks you'll run in. Feet swell, and a shoe fitted first thing in the morning will feel short at 30km.

Leave a thumb's width (about 1cm) between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Your longest toe isn't always your big toe.

Topo Athletic: true to size, with a noticeably roomier anatomical toe box than most road brands. If you're between sizes, take the smaller one; the width is in the shape, not the length. WIDE versions are a wider last again, not a longer one.
OOFOS: recovery footwear, sized in combined M/W US sizing (e.g. M8/W10). If you're between sizes, size up for a relaxed fit.

Socks

Socks are sized off your shoe size, not a separate scale, and the bands differ by brand, so check the chart rather than assuming your usual letter.

Injinji: toe socks. Each toe has its own sleeve, so length matters more than usual. If you're on a size boundary, size down for a snug fit rather than up.
Feetures: anatomical left/right specific, sized in bands off shoe size. A snug fit is correct; these are designed to be worn tight.

Packs, vests and belts

Running vests and packs are sized on chest circumference (measure under the arms, across the fullest part), not on your clothing size. Hiking packs are sized on torso length: the measurement from the bony bump at the base of your neck to the top of your hip bones.

A loaded vest should not bounce. If it does, it's too big, not too loose.

Apparel

Apparel is sized to each brand's own chart; endurance brands generally cut closer than everyday clothing. Check the chart on the product page before defaulting to your usual size.
