Sunglasses Buying Guide
Every pair of goodr we range is polarised, blocks 100% of UV (UV400), and has a no-slip, no-bounce grip coating. So the choice really comes down to two things: the fit for your face and the frame shape you like. Here's how to land the right pair.
1. Start with fit
goodr builds most styles around one benchmark and then sizes up or down from it:
- OG: Standard. The original. A medium frame (141mm across) that suits most faces. If you're not sure, start here.
- BFG: Larger. The OG scaled up (147mm) with more width and coverage. The pick for bigger heads, or anyone who finds standard frames pinch.
- LFG: Smaller. The OG trimmed down (128mm) for petite and narrower faces, where a standard frame slides around.
Fit is the one thing a photo can't tell you, so it's worth getting right first. Then choose your shape within that fit.
2. Then pick your shape
We group goodr by frame family so you can shop the look you're after:
- Classic / Square: OG, BFG, LFG. Clean, everyday frames that go with everything.
- Aviator: Mach G (a sport aviator that runs a touch larger, with a deep lens for extra coverage) and Retro G (a retro take on the classic aviator).
- Cat-eye: Pop G (a slim, sharp profile at a standard width) and Glam G (an oversized cat-eye with more lens coverage).
- Round: Circle G. A round retro lens on a frame that runs slightly narrow, best on small-to-medium faces.
- Shields & Wraps: VRG and the performance shields (Sonic G, Bolt G, Astro G, Bug G, Flex G). A single wrap-around lens for maximum coverage and a locked-in feel at speed.
3. Understand the lens
Across the goodr range:
- UV protection is UV400 (100% UVA/UVB) on every pair: the important bit for your eyes.
- Polarised as standard, which cuts glare off roads, water and wet trails.
- Tint is mostly Category 3 (a dark, bright-day tint); a few colourways are Category 2 for lighter conditions. The exact category is on each product page.
- Coverage is where the shields earn their place: a single wrap lens (VRG and the performance shields) shades more of your field of view and blocks wind, ideal for running, riding and tri.
4. Match it to what you do
- Everyday and road: OG, Circle G, Pop G. Light, comfortable, no fuss.
- Bigger faces or more coverage: BFG or Mach G.
- Trail, riding and triathlon: VRG or a performance shield for maximum coverage and a no-bounce hold.
- Smaller faces: LFG or Circle G.
- Make a statement: Glam G or Retro G.
