Topo's signature fit: they build shoes "shaped like your feet." The anatomical toe box "allows toes to spread naturally and comfortably," which helps your toes align for better balance and stability over long distances. Trade-off: the forefoot is genuinely wide, so if you're used to a snug race fit, size and lace for it. Topo holds the midfoot and heel snug to compensate.
Topo AthleticLow Heel-to-Toe Drop
A low, near-level heel-to-toe height that encourages a natural midfoot stride.
Topo's geometry runs low (0–5 mm drop across the range), which they say "encourages a midfoot strike when running so you move naturally through the gait cycle." Benefit: a more natural, grounded feel underfoot. Trade-off: lower drops load the calf and Achilles more, so allow a transition period if you're coming from a traditional 8–12 mm shoe.
